Matt Moran

With a career spanning more than 30 years in the food industry, Matt Moran is a legend.
He's the author of five best-selling cookbooks, and the force behind some of Australia’s most celebrated dining establishments.
Very much the family man, Matt enjoys nothing more than cooking at home with his wife his two children, Harry and Amelia.
At the heart of his endeavours lies a passion for fresh, seasonal food. He's a pioneer of the “paddock to plate” philosophy, using his own produce when he can, and supporting local growers and farmers.
That seed was planted early on for Matt, who spent his formative years on a farm. That's where his commitment to the land, love of food and seasonal local produce began.
He opened his first restaurant, The Paddington Inn Bistro, in 1991. Since then, he's opened a number of different eateries in Sydney and Brisbane.
Matt is no stranger to TV screens, having hosted MasterChef and MasterChef Junior, Heat in the Kitchen, The Chopping Block, My Restaurant Rules, The Bank, and his own award-winning program, Paddock to Plate. He also co-hosts The Great Australian Bake Off.
He is a contributor to magazines and newspapers globally, and was named the GQ Chef of the Year in 2012 and 2014.
Matt's also been part of the national judging panel for the Delicious Produce Awards since 2005, and has written the menus for Singapore Airlines for 14 years.
He still owns and runs his own farm, located in New South Wales, which supplies premium lamb and beef to his restaurants.
Matt looks forward to unearthing Australia’s Number One Food Family.
