About the show
The X-Files told us the truth is out there. Powers takes a different view: the truth is in there. Buried deep in the human mind, out of the reach of current science, are powers and capacities which one day will be understood just as gravity and the curvature of the earth came into the realm of the rational. The Powers team is forever in search of those truths, however bizarre, implausible and frightening they might be.
The Powers team consists of two psychic researchers, Mark Roberts and Song Li Harris; Professor Henry Powers, the founder and head of the project; and Dr Mary Holland, once a Powers researcher herself. Together the team investigates paranormal mysteries for a range of clients, from government agencies, police forces and business corporations, to worried individuals. Sometimes their investigations into the unknown uncover hoaxes and fraud; at other times they lead to apparent scientific explanations. But whatever the outcome, the result is never quite a closed case.
The Powers team may not be able to give all the answers, but it will ask questions you never even knew had to be asked, and will sometimes provide solutions that maybe you would rather you didnt have to consider. In addition to the action, jeopardy and adventure, Powers taps into every childs fear that they are different, not normal, and repeats the core message: just believe in who you are and be yourself; you are special!
in existence for 14 years, the Powers Project is still in its
infancy and with the evidence of psi-powers msurfacing regularly
around the world, it can only grow. In the words of the Professor
Hans Eysenck, the eminent Professor of Psychology at London
University: Unless there is a gigantic conspiracy involving some 30
departments all over the world, and several hundred highly respected scientists in various fields, the only conclusion the unbiased observer can come to must be that there does exist a small number of people who obtain knowledge existing in other peoples minds, or in the outer world, by means as yet unknown to science.
All the storylines for Powers are based on either contemporary scientific fact, or actual recorded incidents of witnesses to unexplained happenings.
