The mysterious spate of mass bird and fish deaths has turned into a global phenomenon.

Just days after thousands of birds fell dead from the sky in the United States, experts in Sweden are carrying out tests on around 50 dead jackdaws.

Scientists have also been left baffled by at least 100 tons of sardines, croaker and catfish washing up dead along Brazil's coastline.

England's also dealing with the carcasses of 40,000 devil crabs at a beach in Kent.

Much closer to home, hundreds of dead snapper were found on a Coromandel beach yesterday.
