The Act Party has officially launched its election campaign with leader Rodney Hide hammering the line that only Act can help National form a government that will deliver tax cuts.
Act is fighting for its political life polling between 1% and 2%, and is pinning its hopes of returning to parliament on Hide winning the Epsom seat off National's Richard Worth.
At the campaign launch in Auckland, Hide said Act and National had been working together behind the scenes and National had already helped Act.
Hide said he won't ask National leader Don Brash to send a signal to Epsom voters to endorse him, but instead he hopes National realises it will need a supporting partner.
