Theatre fans in Auckland will soon be able to see some Hollywood
royalty live on stage.
Oscar nominated actor Ethan Hawke and Academy Award winning
director Sam Mendes are both coming to Auckland.
In April, Mendes will direct two theatre classics The Cherry
Orchard and The Winter's tale with Hawke featured in both.
The plays are part of the edge's 2009 International Art
season.
Mendes is probably best known for his debut film American Beauty
and is married to actress Kate Winslet.
