Public views Wellington bypass

Wellington motorists have had the chance to check out their long-awaited inner city bypass.

It was the last opportunity on Sunday to walk along the northbound route of the $40 million project.

The bypass takes traffic out of the city by connecting the motorway with the Mount Victoria tunnel, creating a shorter route from the airport.

The new lane opens for traffic on December 28.
