Rawdon Christie is a ONE News presenter and co-host of Saturday Breakfast.
He is the 4.30pm presenter and a news reader for Breakfast and
Midday.
Rawdon's origins are betrayed by his accent - he's from Oxford in
the UK, and originally came to New Zealand after doing a music
degree at Edinburgh University in the early 1990s. He taught
performing arts and coached sport at King's prep in Auckland.
He returned to the UK in 1999 to study broadcast journalism, winning the Young Broadcast Journalist of the Year award in 2000.
Rawdon's first job in journalism was with the BBC, based in Cambridge (UK) as a reporter and producer for a breakfast news radio programme. He later transferred to television and worked as a reporter and presenter for BBC Look East, a regional TV news programme.
Rawdon returned to New Zealand in 2003 to take up a position as
a reporter with ONE News. He had a stint on Close Up before
returning to ONE News in July 2007.
Auckland is now his long-term home, where he lives with his Kiwi
wife and two children. When those children allow the time, he can
be found at the keyboard of a piano, on the golf course or watching
England play cricket.
Rawdon has also hosted the New Zealand version of Dragon's Den on TV ONE.
