Iwi honoured to host service

Local iwi at Matauri Bay in Northland say they are honoured to have a memorial for the Greenpeace vessel, the Rainbow Warrior, in their area. 

 The original crew, staff and invited dignitaries are in Matauri Bay, where the Rainbow Warrior is now used as a diving reef, for a commemoration today. 

An elder of the local marae, Hera Richards, says the commerations are of significance to Maori and its a great honour to be the guardians of the Rainbow Warrior.
