Surf life-savers in the Kahungunu region are deeply concerned with the high number of youth drownings. They hope to find a way to remedy the situation at a water safety conference for whānau in the region to change the tides on youth drowning statistics.

Auckland’s Mission Bay beach reopened
A popular Auckland beach has reopened to the public after being closed due to a pollution scare earlier in the week. Council water quality tests found the bacteria Enterococci in the water, a bacteria harmful to humans. The council has now confirmed that the water is now safe.
