Rātana: Govt urged to hold off on signing TPPA

Wait. That's the message from Māori representatives at Rātana Pā concerning the signing of the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement. Speeches were directed at PM John Key, however, he continues to maintain his message to iwi, namely, that the Government will not trample on Māori rights under the Treaty of Waitangi.

Indgenous community shares concern with Kīngitanga over TPPA

Indigenous leaders are backing the Kīngitanga’s call to oppose the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement. Kīngitanga spokesperson Tukoroirangi Morgan said Māori need to up the ante on the TPPA issue as Hawaiian leaders meet with Māori in solidarity.
