Sadly, Mike and I had to leave Glasgow. But, fortunately we made it safely to Edinburgh. I've been keeping an eye on the Games for you all, though.
Only two of our Māori athletes competed on Day 8 of the Games, which means, the end is near. Did I mention they're both NAATI?
SHANNON McILROY (Lawn Bowls) advanced to the quarter finals but couldn't quite get past Canada's Ryan Bester, losing 10-21. BUT, he's heading into a men's singles bronze medal match against Australia's Aron Sherriff.
JOELLE KING (Squash) and Amanda Landers-Murphy have just lost their women's doubles quarter finals match against India 0-2. BUT, in her mixed doubles match with Martin Knight she beat Malaysia's V.B.J. Bong and R. Arnold 2-0. They advance to quarter finals tomorrow (time to be confirmed).
Another 3 medals today.
Linda Villumsen won Gold in the women's individual time trial.
Our Open Triples Para-Bowlers scored Silver. And men's artistic gymnast David Bishop won Bronze after a stellar routine, scoring 14.550. NOW...Who wants to know what's going on here in Edinburgh? Here's a hint...it starts with ‘H’ and ends with ‘aka’.
