Kahungunu Asset Holding Company (KAHC) is celebrating its latest venture.
They’ve teamed up with the Fiordland Lobster Company to open a new ‘state of the art’ lobster processing factory in Auckland.
The factory is owned by the iwi corporation who will then lease it to the Fiordland Lobster Company.
It’s not the first time the two entities have worked together. In 2007, KAHC entered into a five-by-five share purchase and quota lease agreement with the lobster company in return for guaranteed access to the iwi’s quota.
KAHC is the fourth largest shareholder of the Fiordland Lobster Company and they hold a seat on its board.
