Pearl McGlashan's Return
Peal McGlashan plays Jasmine Cooper, who is also making a return to Ferndale. Here's what she had to say about life on Shortland Street.
Do you have a favourite moment from your time on Shortland Street?
I have many moments from my time that are very special to me. Too many to pick one favourite!
Which other actors/actresses do you like working with the most and why?
During my time on the show working with the rest of the Cooper family was a constant joy. You couldn't ask for a better pretend family.
What's the best experience you've had with a fan/fans?
I've had some wonderful encounters with young fans that want to get into acting. So cool to meet people that want to hear about your experiences and go into the business.
What's the strangest experience you've had with a fan/fans?
Oh Lordy. There are certainly some dedicated fans out there. I get asked a lot "why are you here, aren't you supposed to be in South America?"
Can you remember your first day on Shortland Street – what was it like?
Terrifying, although I don't remember much of it.
Were your returning scenes easy or were you just as nervous as the first time you were on set?
Well the first day back we shot the funeral. I was nervous because I wanted to do well for Jaq, Honour the beautiful work she did all those years as Wendy and give her the send off she deserved.
Your returning storyline involved some difficult scenes – how was that to film?
Sad. But rewarding. It's work to get stuck into, all those big emotions. As an actor it doesn't get much better than that.
