How the All Blacks rated in their shock loss to England at Twickenham.

15-Israel Dagg -  4/10
An off day with his booming right boot on a day when he kicked a lot. Little or no impact and was shut down on the rare sortie. A pair of nice touches in try lead ups. World Cup year was more fun for Dagg.

14-Cory Jane -  7/10
A couple of uncharacteristic errors to start the day then started to show his AFL pedigree. Made some telling trademark breaks to get things going in the second spell, having a hand in the first and single handedly sparking the second. Man of Match for All Blacks. Defies belief how hard he is to tackle.

13-Conrad Smith -  5/10
Something is seriously wrong when Smith makes a howler of a misread. Quiet night bar the Twickenham roar as Brad Barritt hared past him for the first English try. His space was targeted well and as a result couldnt make inroads. Flat end to a vintage season.

12-Maa Nonu -  5.5/10
Shut down all day by the marauding defence and couldnt stamp his mark with go forward ball. Forced to turn to the boot on a handful of occasions. Blokes either side of him didnt help his cause.

11-Julian Savea -  6/10
Another couple for the try scoring machine with twelve tries for the year. Well contained for the most part but was at least having a good crack. Still suspect under the high ball.

10-Dan Carter -  4/10
Baby brain usually affects the female species. In 92 Tests, he wouldnt have missed two kicks in a row from out in front. Didnt adjust well from the expected English blitz on his time and space affecting whole backline. Was swatted away by Tuilagi for the crucial second try. Under pressure and underwhelming.

9-Aaron Smith -  4.5/10
First meaningful break was quashed by his daft kick option on the next phase and he never really recovered with a kick charged and a sloppy pass under pressure following. Little or no clout when pack going sideways or backward. Deflating end to a promising season.

8-Kieran Read -  7/10
Lone ranger in trying to wrest the game back after the break. Some big tackles on his goal line and finished off a try. Threw the intercept pass but the game looked lost by then. Made his captain look mortal which is a huge feat. Led from the front, looked like he was getting comfortable.

7-Richie McCaw - 4/10
Unseen in the first half when the heat was coming on at the breakdown. Tried to get the side going after the break with a well timed burst to set up Savea try but then went missing again. Did not look 100% whatsoever. One out of the 100+ plus Tests he will want to forget.

6-Liam Messam -  5/10
Some solid hits on the England runners around the park but wasnt effective in winning the ball in the 50/50 rucks. Couldnt feed off his fellow loosies who were also struggling.

5-Sam Whitelock -  6/10
Solid in an outplayed side. Was a spent force by the end of the match. A fixture as the senior lock, playing all but one match this year, the look on his face as he chased Tuilagi was exhaustion. Pass mark in a poor team performance.

4-Brodie Retallick -  3.5/10
Ineffective and clumsy outing. Little mistakes put his side under the pump and was duly replaced after 50 minutes.

3-Owen Franks - 4/10
Along with Woodcock, struggled to get the advantage at scrum time. Pinged for a crucial penalty after the halftime break and was subbed quickly after. Couldnt get the domination at the breakdown he usually covets to get the front foot ball.

2-Keven Mealamu -  5/10
Apart from one wild throw, a good night out for the lineout. Couldnt get the momentum going with his burrows but was strong as ever in the dark arts.

1-Tony Woodcock -  4/10
Found out a few times by the referee for scrum infringements and looked reactive at the breakdown. One good surge but otherwise lethargic and outshone. Scrum could not get the upper hand.

16-Dane Coles -  6/10
On for last 20. Lineout continued to be the one shining light. Showed some vim when his side needed it.

17-Wyatt Crockett -  n/a
On for last ten minutes.

18-Charlie Faumuina -  6.5/10
On for last 30 minutes. Big right shoulder and wasnt shy to get his hands on the ball. Best prop in black.

19-Luke Romano -  5/10
On for Retallick after 50 minutes. Deserved the start after great debut season. Showed a strong shoulder but a part of a beaten up pack.

20-Victor Vito-  6/10
Last 17 minutes for Messam. Made some stellar plays to get some respectability into the performance. Too little too late.

21-Piri Weepu -  6/10
Last quarter of hour for Smith but too little time for Weepu. Hindsight is brilliant isnt it? Played an assured role but after the game was gone.

22-Aaron Cruden -  n/a
Last quarter of hour for Carter. Passenger role.

23-Ben Smith - n/a
Last ten minutes for Dagg to the relief of Dagg.
