Jack McGee (as Jerry Reilly)
Jack McGee, a real-life New York City firefighter for over a decade before turning to acting, stars as Chief Jerry Riley-otherwise affectionately labeled "The Good Chief" by the rescuers of Company 62-on Rescue Me.
McGee, a native New Yorker born in the South Bronx who became an FDNY firefighter in 1977, brings true experience and gritty realism to his leading role to RESCUE ME. After ten years on the job at the FDNY, McGee initially took part-time, bit acting parts in the cult film Turk 182 (1985), Shy People (1987) and in the Jodie Foster-led Five Corners (1987). Soon after that he got the bug and moved to Hollywood to pursue acting full-time.
After a breakthrough role in the blockbuster movie Lethal Weapon 2 (1989), McGee found his prior career experience put to extensive work in the Ron Howard-directed firefighting film, Backdraft (1991). From there, McGee's film career has logged over 60 feature film credits, ranging from the lead role in Thirteen Days Which Shocked The World (in the memorable portrayal of defiant, late Chicago Mayor Richard J. Daley) to a most recent part as a police detective in Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde.
McGee's other feature film credits include Basic Instinct,
Miracle On 34th Street, Breakdown, Jungle 2 Jungle, The Doors and
Born On The Fourth Of July. He has also racked up over 50 TV
appearances on such high-profile series as ER, The Practice,
Malcolm In The Middle, The X-Files and Seinfeld, as well as a
recurring role on NYPD Blue.
McGee currently lives in Studio City, California with his wife Stephanie.
