Season 2 Ep 4: Tyson
Tyson is a Papillion cross who didn’t like to be touched. The tiny dog would snap at people if they went to handle him. In fact his snapping was so bad the pound was scheduled to have him put down when Mark turned up to rescue him. For a tiny dog, Tyson has a lot of attitude and a real stubborn streak which was at its worst when he refused to come when called. Tyson was also very underweight, made worse by being a fussy eater (which may have been anxiety induced). Tyson began to put on weight and his coat greatly improved through a diet of PRO PLAN Focus Small Breed Puppy and BENEFUL Prepared Meals.
To encourage fussy eaters, Mark recommends combining wet food and dry food, as this can encourage them to eat. Feeding frequent smaller meals of a food with a higher fat content can help underweight dogs to bulk up. Your vet will be able to provide you with guidance around feeding underweight dogs.
