New Zealand heavyweight boxer David Tua has had confirmation that he will be fighting American Monte Barrett on July 17th.

The 37-year-old Tua was originally scheduled to fight in Brazil on June 26, however his American-based trainer Roger Bloodworth said on Wednesday that has been changed.

Bloodworth said the new date gives Tua plenty of time to get in shape.

The new venue is likely to be in Atlantic City.

Tua last fight was a 12 rounds victory on points victory over Friday Ahununya in March, which came after he had destroyed fellow Kiwi heavyweight Shane Cameron in the much hyped "fight of the century" back in October 2009.
