This week the Candy Lane Dancers bring a touch of show biz
glamour to the set of NZ Smashes Guinness World Records, as they
attempt to break the record for the most people crammed inside a
The current record is held by Austrian cheerleaders, who managed to fit an incredible 15 people in this tiny vehicle.
Candy Lane is the glamorous co-host from TV ONEs Dancing With
The Stars and has represented New Zealand in dancing since she was
15 years old.
The Candy Lane Dancers are the most successful dance company in New Zealand, and have appeared on Dancing with the Stars, The Singing Bee, Stars in Their Eyes and So You Wanna be a Popstar.
For Candy, a Guinness World Record attempt was a no brainer. "We're a competitive and very flexible group of dancers. And you've got to be in to win!"
Later in the show, former Silver Fern captain Anna Rowberry takes aim at host Marc Ellis in an attempt to break the record for the most maltesers thrown and caught with the mouth.
And 18-year-old gymnast Kris Done takes on one of the most
physically demanding records yet - the most backward flips
against a wall in one minute.
This record is currently held by Miguel Marquez from Spain, who set the record at 29 flips in 2009 in Beijing.
Kris has been training in gymnastics since he was four years old, and has won numerous medals for gymastics in New Zealand, Australia and the USA. Kris is confident he has what it takes to beat the record.
