The second man charged over the fiery death of 21-year-old Shalvin Prasad has been named.

Name suppression on 18-year-old Bryne Permal was lifted in the High Court in Auckland today.

He and Shivneel Kumar, who was named last week, are both charged with murder.

Prasad's body was found by a passerby on the side of McRobbie Road in south Auckland on January 31.

An accelerant had been used on the 21-year-old.

Police indicated earlier that one of the accused was known to Prasad.
