A ONE News exclusive on US military secrets being revealed on an MP3 player has caught the attention of the Pentagon.
The story of how New Zealander Chris Ogle discovered the private files on an MP3 he bought in a thrift shop was broadcast on CNN.
A Pentagon spokesman says there will now be an investigation into whether the files are from the defence department.
The information includes lists of soldiers based in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as their social security numbers.
