New Zealand's oldest skydiver makes the jump

Published: 8:56AM Monday February 25, 2013 Source: ONE News

Living to the age of 95 is no mean feat, but throwing yourself out of a plane at that age is even more remarkable.

Alpha Cuthbertson did exactly that yesterday, officially making her New Zealand's oldest skydiver.

Cuthbertson sky dived when she was 90; and promised to do it again on her 95th birthday.

She told TV ONE's Breakfast the main reason she made the jump was because it was free, along with the fact that she made the promise five years ago.

According to Cuthbertson fear wasn't a factor at all.

"I'm never scared of anything," she said.

The only thing that made the dive a little uncomfortable was that the safety suits was a little tight in the leg.

But that wouldn't stop the fearless 95-year-old from doing it again.

"I'd do it again, if I'm still around."
