A former employee of Kim Dotcom says New Zealand is being manipulated by the internet mogul.
Jessie Bushyhead came to New Zealand in December last year to work and live in the Dotcom mansion as a video editor.
The four-time Emmy winning editor told TV ONE's Sunday programme he saw another side to Dotcom through working for him.
"I think he's playing you like a fiddle.
"He's playing on your nationalistic sentiments."
Bushyhead said shortly after moving to New Zealand he wanted to resign because of how on edge he had to be in the mansion.
"[I thought] I can't take this any more, I'm tired of walking on eggshells."
Bushyhead said after getting into an argument with Dotcom he was assaulted by his security guards and held against his will.
"[One] grabbed me by the throat, literally grabbed me by the throat and started dragging me.
"[Another] grabbed my arms and pinned them behind my back."
Following the incident, Bushyhead made an assault complaint to police.
Dotcom denied Bushyhead's claims, and said he fired him because he was not happy with his work.
The United States is seeking to have Dotcom extradited on copyright charges because of file sharing website Megaupload.
Dotcom has announced he will launch a new file sharing website, with the domain name me.ga, next year.
