Some people believe the secret to a long life is a tot of whiskey at night, for others it is plenty of exercise.
For Catherine Reddoch of Matamata the secret is a cheeseburger a day and a hot chocolate.
Nearly every day for more than 20 years, 100-year-old Reddoch has taken her time to walk the short distance from her RSA flat to her local McDonald's to dine on her favourite meal.
And having passed the century mark, there are few people who would try and talk her out of her routine.
"I like cheese and I like the meat, " she told TV ONE'S Close Up. "I like both, but I don't have any sauces on it."
Spritely Catherine says she's not even remotely worried about the fat content of the meal.
"I eat anything and everything - I like my cheeseburgers."
It takes Reddoch about an hour to walk the just under one kilometre distance to the golden arches for her lunch, with a few breathers along the way.
The only thing that would hold her back would be a very wet day or a sore hip, and then the McDonald's staff might even pop round to her house with her burger.
McDonald's has rewarded her dedication to their product in her twilight years, giving her the daily burger fix for free nowawdays. And on her 100th birthday they put a plaque with her name on it, on her regular seat.
