Body found at Christchurch house

Police have launched a homicide inquiry after a man's body was discovered in a Christchurch home on Monday night.

The deceased man along with a badly injured female were discovered at a Burrows Place property about 6.15pm, Christchurch police said.

The female was taken to hospital where she is being treated, police said.

The house has been secured the house and a scene examination will begin on Tuesday morning.

Police will be continuing investigations through the night.
