Meet The Locals Conservation Week Special
This year's Meet The Locals Conservation Week Special sees Dr James Reardon and Les Judd head into the wilderness to take a look at how New Zealand businesses can give something back to our wild creatures and places.
Basing themselves in the fabulous Fiordland, Reardon and Judd
head to some of the most remote areas of Aotearoa, and meet with
some passionate Kiwis as they revisit the wildlife of this
world-beating natural habitat.
First up, Reardon weighs anchor and jumps aboard the 'Southern
Wind' on a trip down Doubtful Sound to the remote paradise of
Secretary Island in search of some new arrivals from the North
Island.
Judd choppers in to the remote, pest-managed haven of Chalky Island
to follow a young Kiwi fashion designer and her passion for the
inquisitive and charming South Island Robin.
Then lastly, Reardon stops off at Breaksea Island where one of New
Zealand's leading wine makers has been putting his heart and soul
into the preservation of the iconic Saddleback or Tieke.
