About Zion Wildlife Gardens
Zion Wildlife Gardens is located in a tranquil valley to the west of Whangarei. The park is dedicated to the preservation of big cats, including rare Barbary lions and white tigers.
It's a unique park where visitors have the opportunity to view and learn about these magnificent endangered animals up close in a friendly non zoo-like environment.
The park currently has twenty one cats - twelve Barbary lions, four white Bengal tigers, an orange Bengal tiger (who has recently given birth to a cub), and a small family of Serval cats. The Royal White tigers are extremely rare with there being only 90 in the world!
Zion Wildlife Gardens is planning to establish the largest big cat habitat in Australasia. This is an exciting project for New Zealand and Northland.
