With 3.4 million tonnes of waste already going into landfills every year, increasing as fast as the population does, it's going to be our children who have to deal with the growing problem. But what if you couldn't throw anything away - how would you reuse it? Hundreds of Auckland kids respond to that challenge in the annual Schools Trash to Fashion Awards, where they transform everyday rubbish into wearable art and high fashion. We've got past winners and newbies with us in the studio today, working their trashy magic on Astar and Rod.
Thanks to Michael Ng for taking the lovely finalist's photos

Nelson Aspen is back with us this week, with all the best insider info from LAX. This week, he's all about the Tony's, so watch for his best picks.

Antiques man Josh Williams has some beautiful Faberge treasures to show us this week and it's your chance to see how good your eye is. Look on our Facebook page for a photo of the Faberge box, send in your best guess at what it might be worth, then watch Josh's antiques segment to see how close you are. Maybe you'll discover a whole new calling!

June 14th is World Blood Donor Day and the ideal time for us to remember the number of lives saved in New Zealand every year by blood donation (around 42,00). In 2009, Sonia Grey gave birth to twin girls Inez and Thandie, but all three of them nearly didn't make it. She's here to tell us their story, together with Paul Hayes of the New Zealand Blood Service.

Lady Gaga was in town this week and she surely showed us how to rock a Peplum. If you're not sure what that is, tune in to fashion guy Luke Bettesworth who will explain what the look's about and how to make it work for you.

The Food Truck Guy is back on Good Morning with a new book showcasing all his best recipes. One of The Food Truck's big hits was fresh and fruity Traffic Light Smoothies, which were devoured by the big hulking wood choppers at Puhoi's axe man carnival. Today with the help of some young friends, Michael Van de Elzen shows us how he does it.

Domenica Houlihan is in the Good Morning kitchen with some warm and sweet pudding treats to help you through the winter afternoons.

Astar is feeling the chill herself this week, so is making a warm peplum wrap vest to see her through the winter months. Watch and follow her instructions for an easy winter wraparound.

The Star Trek series inspired inventions such as the flip top phone and a whole new generation of Scottys. One of those is an American engineer who watched on his family's black and white TV as a nine year old, then grew up to believe he can build a real Starship Enterprise. It will be powered by a 1.5GW nuclear reactor, capable of getting us to the Moon in three days and Mars in ninety. With a bit of practice, Earth's nearest star, Alpha Centauri, will be a mere nine years away. But, is it logical? Technology guy Paul Brislen is transporting in to tell us all about the project.
