Te Kohe's Recipe - Paroua Koroua - 24 July

These  paroua koroua (scones) were the first thing Te Kohe Tuhaka learned to make on the marae. They were made for kuia to have with their tea.

There are no quantities for the ingredients because, as Te Kohe says, "My mum doesn't measure anything. Her ringaringa - hands were her measuring cup."

Plain Flour
Baking Powder
Raw Sugar

  1. Combine dry ingredients
  2. Into small well, add milk and water
  3. Knead dough
  4. Bake at 180degC until golden brown  (10-20 minutes).
