Summer Make-up with Michele Perry

Sun Kissed Glow

Want the glow you'd get from spending a lazy afternoon in the summer sun, without the nasty side-effects.

Come on Kids we all know better than to fry in the sun to get the bronzed beauty look, heres your sure-fire fake bake recipe for summer beauty success.

Fake Bake

Can't handle being ghostly-pale? Get your tan from a can (or bottle or air brush)

Top Tip: Before you make any attempt to apply fake tan remember to Scrub-a-dub-dub, yep remember to exfoliate with a non oily scrub first and don't forget to pay special attention your knees and elbows, ankles and feet.

Time To Tan

If you're Home Tanning carefully work the self-tanner over your body, making sure you apply it evenly and thoroughly. If you're extra pale try a gradual product like a tanning moisturizer like or make your own by blending your tanner with moisturizer (half and half). Follow the directions on your self-tanning product you'll probably need to give the tanner at least 10 minutes to dry, and possibly several hours to set (before doing anything that would cause you to sweat).

Top Tip: Wipe your palms off on a washcloth after applying the tanner, or wear rubber gloves, pulling them off and tanning the backs of your hands last otherwise, your palms will end up tinted orange.

Stay safe in the sun this summer use a product with SPF 30 or higher.

Foundations or moisturizers with SPF are great if you're cruising around town, but choose a dedicated sunscreen whenever you're getting serious sun exposure ( beach, Bach or Pool). And remember to keep your skin nice and hydrated, choose a basic light body moisturiser or body butter.

Summer Beauty

Top Tip:  Remember summer makeup is minimal, bronzy, glossy, glowing and dewy, during the summer there is one general rule that is good to stick to....&less is more!

Instead of your regular foundation opt for a light, natural coverage like a tinted moisturizer. If you really need to even out your skin tones, apply foundation with a damp sponge like a Beauty blender. If you bounce the Blender instead dragging it your product will go on lightly and evenly with no streaks.

Add a bit of shimmer and glimmer with a face or body with a liquid illuminator, It brightens your skin Making you look really radiant.

Instantly warm up your skin-tone with powder bronzer, apply bronzer and a big fluffy brush. Just dust it where the sun would naturally hit, like the forehead, chin, cheeks and shoulders.

Choose the right bronzer for your skin type as bronzers come in different shades to suit different types of complexion. To get the best results use a bronzer which is two shades darker than your natural skin tone. If you have a fair skin tone choose a honey colored bronzer, if you have a medium tone complexion go for rose-gold colored bronzer and if you have tanned or dark skin choose a brown colored bronzer.

Top Tip: Do not cover your entire face as this will not allow the bronzer to create the desired effect.
