Today we start our daily celebration of  50 years of television in New Zealand! Almost 50 years ago broadcasting legend Dougal Stevenson got his start on the small screen as one of the nation's first newsreaders. For half the century he's watched the news evolve and tackled many other on screen roles as well as we'll find out!

The sixth season of Reel Earth Environmental Film Festival launches on the 22nd of May in Palmerston North and will tour around the country. Actor Robyn Malcolm has a passion for environmental films and will MC the gala opening.
