Astar's Craft: Wax be gone!

Wax on Table Cloths, Clothes or Carpet

Easy easy easy! Get some news print paper or a brown paper bag and a warm iron.

First scrap off the excess wax.

Place several piece of paper under the table cloth or clothing.

Place more paper on the top of the wax and simply iron away.

Continue moving the bag around as you pick up the wax so you are always using a clean section.

If a little grease stain remains on the carpet, sprinkle it with baking soda and allow to rest over night before vacuuming. This will remove the greasy residue.

If colour wax leaves a stain on the carpet, blot it with a spot remover or carpet cleaner - but do follow the instruction directions on the label.

Candle or Votive Holders

To prevent the wax from melting and sticking to the inside of a votive or candle holder, pour a bit of water into the holder, then place the candle on top. If you are reading this tip too late and there is already wax stuck inside, pop it in the freezer for an hour. The wax will simply chip right off.
