Astar's Craft: Terracotta Vase
Take an ordinary every day terracotta pot and saucer and turn it into a vase.
What You Need:
Terracotta pot and saucer in a size to suit.
Glue gun and sticks
Acrylic undercoat paint
Black, dark green, or ruby red acrylic top coat
Optional - spray vanish to protect surface of work
Soak and water to clean up
Turn the terracotta pot upside down on your work surface. Do the same with the saucer. With bottom to bottom of both pot and saucer glue these together using the hot glue gun.
The next step is to make patterns on the outside of the pot. To do this, simply use the gun and as if icing a cake, either just do the top portion of pot or randomly cover the surface with patterns to suit. The glue will be dry within 10 minutes.
You need to be patient and allow it to completely dry before proceeding to the next stage.
Once dry, coat the surface with the acrylic undercoat paint.
When this is dry, apply two coats of top coat - black.
Apply a little gold to your finger and run this over the 'relief' or 'raised' areas of pot. Allow to completely dry.
Now we are ready to fill the vase with flowers&
