Annabel Langbein’s Pastry Treats
With Annabel Langbein
Today Annabel decided to show us just how easy it is to whip up a delicious savoury snack or starter. She raided our ‘Good Morning’ fridge for left-over bits and pieces, mixed them up with the paprika aioli she made this morning, popped them on some pastry and made these yummy savoury treats…
2 sheets of puff pastry
Egg for egg wash
Aioli or mayonnaise (see Annabel’s Paprika Aioli recipe)
Left-overs from the fridge (Annabel used 5 mushrooms, 2 tablespoons of aioli and a couple of left-over pieces of chorizo.)
Brush one sheet of pastry with egg, then pop the other sheet on top of it.
Cut pastry into little squares.
Slice a small square outline inside the first layer of each piece of pastry. This will ensure the savouries puff up nicely.
Brush top of pastry with egg wash.
Mix aioli with left-overs from fridge ie chopped mushrooms (could use prawns, chicken, bacon, ham, tomatoes, cheese etc) and pop a small spoonful into the middle of each pastry square.
Bake at 220° for 15 minutes.
