Of Irish and Polish descent, Eric Mabius grew up moving almost constantly. Upon graduating from high school, he attended the renowned arts school Sarah Lawrence College. Immersing himself in acting, writing and film theory, Mabius made college the jumping-off point for his first roles in theatre in smaller off-Broadway productions. He landed his first film role as the teen rock star in Todd Solondz's Sundance Award winner "Welcome to the Dollhouse."
Mabius has appeared in more than 25 films--seven of which screened at the Sundance Film Festival--and over a dozen television projects. His credits include roles in many genres, such as action ("Resident Evil" and "The Extreme Team"), drama ("Cruel Intentions"), comedy ("Wirey Spindell"), mystery ("Minus Man"), horror ("The Crow: Salvation" and "Black Circle Boys") and romance ("Splendor" and "Dancing at the Harvest Moon"). The groundbreaking series "The L Word" is another in a long line of unique and varied projects he has chosen that have achieved critical and audience acclaim.
Mabius has worked with such award-winning feature film directors as Neil LaBute, Burr Steers and Lisa Cholodenko. His hometown is Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and his birth date is April 22.
