Gucci Mane understudy and author behind the smash hit O Let's Do It, Waka Flocka, was reportedly shot twice in an attempted robbery on Tuesday.

Details are just beginning to emerge, although Twitter and other social networks are all buzzing with speculation about the shooting.

According to MTV.com Flocka suffered a gunshot wound to the arm as he was stopped at a carwash.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital and a spokesperson for his record company has subsequently said Flame will be fine.

Flocka was reportedly approached by unknown men at gunpoint and was told to hand over his jewellery after stopping at a petrol station.

After refusing to give up his jewellery, the suspects fired shots and Waka Flocka was reportedly hit twice.

Police said the matter is under investigation and wouldn't say whether there was a suspect.

Sergeant Scott McBride, a spokesperson for the Fulton County Police Department, told the Atlanta Journal Constitution that "a scuffle broke out, then shots were fired."
