Music industry can be 'overwhelming' - Justin Bieber

Published: 9:08AM Tuesday December 04, 2012 Source: BANG Showbiz

Justin Bieber admits the music industry is sometimes "too much" for him.

The pop star, 18, who is currently in an on-off relationship with Selena Gomez, confessed he occasionally feels "overwhelmed" with his life, and turns to his mother for advice and support.

Pattie Mallette raised Justin mostly as a solo-mum after giving birth aged 18-years-old.

"When everyone's constantly saying they love you and you're amazing, people start believing it," he said.

"When I feel like this industry is too much and I get overwhelmed, I think of my mum saying, 'Stick it out'."

While Justin turns to his mother for advice when he is feeling down, he makes sure she doesn't get too involved with managing his music career because he doesn't want to start arguing with her and ending up "resenting" her.

"She wants me to be a good person," he said. "A lot of times the parents start managing the artist and that can be tricky - when it becomes your momager.

"It's too much. You start resenting them, because they're making all your business decisions, and what if you don't agree with them? You start fighting and it's not a good thing.

"I have my mom, and she helps out, but as far as being my manager, I let my manager do that. Let my mom be my mom."

The Boyfriend singer admits his fans "get sick" of new material quickly because there are so many ways to listen to new songs nowadays, so he always feels it is expected of him to give them something a bit different.

"People get bored. Everything is so accessible that they get sick of things," he told Style magazine.

"A new song gets old quickly, because fans can go on the internet and watch it so many times in a row. You have to be creative fast.

"If I stayed doing the music I did on my last album, they'd get bored. They've already had that. I just have to give more and more."
