Beyonce has wowed the crowd with her performance of the American national anthem at US President Barack Obama's inauguration today.
The Halo hitmaker, dressed in a demure black dress with emerald earrings, sang The Star Spangled Banner in Washington DC following the president's swearing-in and speech.
Beyonce, 31, who previously performed At Last four years ago at one of Obama's inaugural balls, received huge applause from the audience, which included her husband rapper Jay-Z.
The singer has long been one of the President's most high profile supporters.
She wrote a letter of praise for him ahead of last November's US presidential election, in which she credited him with inspiring the future generation, including her own daughter.
"Every day we see your heart and character, inspiring us to give more of ourselves," she wrote.
"You are the leader to take us from where we are to where we need to be. You are the reason my daughter and nephew will grow up knowing that they can truly be ANYTHING they want to be.
"All my respect and adoration, Beyonce."
She also designed a T-shirt to raise money for President Obama's re-election campaign.
Meanwhile, celebrities including Khloe Kardashian and Olivia Wilde have taken to Twitter to congratulate Obama on his inauguration day.
"Been up early watching the Inauguration #MLK #PresidentObama," Khloe tweeted.
"I sincerely hope it was Mimosa Monday at the WH today. I would be s****ing myself anyway, but still, a bubbly beta blocker is in order," Olivia posted.
Kelly Clarkson, who performed at the event, jokingly thanked the president for "opening" for her.
"Wow &.I was incredibly nervous and cold ha! I just wanna officially thank President Obama for opening for me haha! Just kidding :)," she tweeted.
She later posted a photo of herself meeting Obama, followed be a tweet saying: "What an honor to be a part of history! Obama's presence was powerful and his words unforgettable. It's a proud day for America!"

However, one celebrity who was left disappointed was Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder, who lost his prized ticket to the celebrations.
"Ahh! Who lost his ticket w/ great seats to the Presidential Inauguration while grabbing food? THIS GUY! WTF?! BUMMMMER&," he tweeted.
"Breakfast alone in DC sans inauguration ticket. Time to get caught up on emails and tweets i guess-Meetings later to prepare for&"
Fortunately, Ian was able to catch the speech on television, writing: "Time to get some major major stuff done Mr.President. Enjoy a day off sir, there will not be many more for 4 years!"
