Wallace Chapman talks rugby season
Documentary NZ host Wallace Chapman may not be the first person you think of when you think of rugby… in fact, when he joined Jeanette Thomas on Good Morning, the pair had a joke about just that!
Wallace and Jeanette spoke about Documentary NZ’s rugby season, looking at New Zealand’s love affair with the game and the power it has to captivate the nation (who’s heart didn’t jump into their mouth in the dying moments of the 2011 World Cup final?!).
“I love a good sports story, because it’s unscripted drama,” explains Wallace.
“When a good sports story intersects with a good documentary, there’s nothing better!"
Watch the video below to find out more about some of the documentaries playing this month, including a clip of A Little Bit Tough, which looks at why rugby is so important to New Zealand.
Not to mention some great banter between Jeanette and Wallace and a quiz on his knowledge of rugby!
Don’t miss the rugby season of Documentary NZ, Wednesdays at 7.30pm on TVNZ Heartland.
