Dancing With The Stars

TV ONE

Episode two: Lizzy leaves the floor!

Well the second episode had it all - catsuits, a "charging bull" and a surprise appearance by Tim Shadbolt.

Click here to watch clips of all the dances on tvnz.co.nz. In a shocking twist, Lizzy Igasan and Cody Stephens were eliminated - Chris Hobbs and Christie are safe for another week.

The first shock of the night was Josh Kronfeld and partner Rachel Burstein's outfits - was she wearing a skort? On second glance it appears to be a catsuit. A very very tight catsuit.... Jason was rendered speechless.

Josh minced onto the floor with Rachel on his shoulders. Incidentally, she finished on his shoulders too....

Josh Kronfeld and Rachel Burstein - paso doble - The Final Countdown - Europe

Brendan said: That's a good start. MAKE A POINT IF YOU'RE GOING TO MAKE A POINT!
Alison said: You are a great shape for a matador. You made it look pretty easy.
Craig said: Very stompy. The lifts looked like you were working out at the gym.
Paul said: Don't be down on yourself. You did a good one.
Score: 7 / 7 / 4 / 6  total = 24

Josh said: "I'm pissed off to be honest." Wow. Tough crowd. Apparently the cape got in the way.

John Rowles and Krystal Stuart - foxtrot - I've Got the World on a String - Frank Sinatra

John started by serenading Krystal.  Aw.

Brendan said: There were moments of Gene Kelly... and Herman Munster.
Alison said: I enjoyed the foxtrot more than the cha cha!
Craig said: It may have been better if you'd sung through the whole thing.
Paul said: I liked the singing. It's great to set up a scenario.
Score: 3 / 6 / 5 / 5    total = 19

Barbara Kendall and Jonny Williams - paso doble - Will and Elizabeth - Pirate s of the Caribbean

Jonny and Barbara? Perhaps Robin Hood and Maid Marian would be more apt....

Brendan said: Power. Commitment. Drama. All there guys - loved it.
Alison said: Great power and drama.
Craig said: You were like a mad woman possessed darling - on speed!
Paul said: Very well danced. Jonny, great routine. Bring your face to the performance.
Score: 8 / 8 / 8 / 8   total = 32

Chris Hobbs and Kristie Boyd  - foxtrot - Feeling Good - Michael Buble

Chris looks like he's channelling gangster style while Kristy looks like she's working... candifloss.

Brendan said: It was a lot better than your cha cha cha last week.
Alison said: I would like you to baffle us with your topline.
Craig said: I was bored to tears. D-U-L-L DULL.
Paul said: Mate I thought that was good! Don't count.
Score: 3 / 6 / 3 / 6    total = 18

Wow. Chris challenged Craig to a dance off. Now they're taking bets.

Geraldine Brophy and Stefano Olivieri - paso doble - Gallito - Merle Evans Circus Band

Did Geraldine find the story?

Brendan said:
It had moments of brilliance, and moments of horror.
Alison said: That marching flavour has to come from the heels.
Craig said: It was more the madam in the whorehouse at Texas - not Spain. You were the charging bull.
Paul said: I was bored.
Score:  3 / 5 / 4 / 3 total = 12

Lizzy Igasan and Cody Stephens - foxtrot - Isn't She Lovely - Stevie Wonder

Brendan said: There was a lack of content. Step up your game.
Alison said: Your shoulders weren't great.
Craig said: Work on your spins - if you're here next week.
Paul said: You're going through the motions without feeling the emotions.
Score: 3  / 6 / 6 / 6 total = 21

Tamati Coffey and Samantha Hitchcock - paso doble - Plaza of Execution - James Horner - "The Mask of Zorro"

Hmmm - footage of Tamati receiving advice from Tim Shadbolt? Let's hope he didn't listen too hard!

Brendan said: Congratulations. Brilliant job of understanding what the paso doble is all about.
Alison said: Yeah what he said!
Craig said: That sir, was the paso of the evening!
Paul said: A-MA-ZING! The jacket's all right - mine was better.
Score: 9 / 9 / 9 / 9  total =  36

Rebecca Hobbs and Aaron Gilmore - foxtrot - Close to You - The Carpenters

Brendan said:  It was nice. That's not necessarily a compliment.
Alison said: It was lovely and relaxed. Stay off the coffee - and I don't mean Tamati.
Craig said: Don't listen to Brendan - that was routined beautifully.
Paul said: Lovely! A joy to watch! (and he bounced)
Score:  7 / 7 / 8 / 8 total = 30

The final two:
Chris Hobbs and Kristie Boyd
Lizzy Igasan and Cody Stephens - eliminated.
