Carol Archie - director
Carol Archie is one of New Zealand's most experienced reporters. She began her career as a cadet journalist for the NZBC in the mid 1960s and has worked extensively in television news, current affairs and documentaries.
In the early 1980s, when she was the agriculture reporter for TVNZ, she and her husband, Bill, bought an eight hectare block at Taupaki, near Auckland, where they developed an apple orchard and reared a few sheep and cattle.
After 20 years of "making a meagre living from the land" they finally relented and moved back to the city. But Carol says she'll never lose her love for the country and rural people.
