Lisa George plays Beth Tinker

Lisa George grew up in Grimsby and trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

One of her earliest televisions role was in The Bill in 1994, where she played the guest role of Melissa Wilson.

Lisa also made appearances in long-running shows Casualty and The Bill, as well as a guest appearance in Emmerdale.

As well as television roles, Lisa has appeared in a number of successful plays and musicals, including a British tour of Prisoner: Cell Block H, Rogers and Hammerstein – The Sound of Movies and numerous pantomime roles.

Beth Tinker is actually Lisa’s fourth role in Coronation Street! She previously appeared in three guest roles: as Jacqui in 2007, WPC Stoneall in 2005 and a nurse in 1997.

Beth was initially also to be a guest role, appearing in two episodes in 2011. But producers decided that her character had lots of potential, so decided to bring her character back as a regular character a few months later.

Her portrayal of Beth earned Lisa a nomination for Best Newcomer at the 2012 TV Choice Awards.

First appearance on Coronation Street in the UK:

5 August 2011: In an attempt to move on from Becky, Steve invites his former flame Beth out on a date, despite having not seen her for years. She is somewhat different to the model he remembers!
