Craig Charles (born 11 July 1964) plays Lloyd Mullaney on Coronation Street.

Craig is also a stand-up comedian, author, poet, radio and television presenter and former professional footballer, and is well-known for playing Dave Lister in the British sci-fi sitcom Red Dwarf.

Craig grew up on the Cantril Farm estate and before turning to entertainment played professional football, most notably for Tranmere Rovers.

He started out his career as a contemporary and urban performance poet on the British cabaret circuit, before moving to television, appearing on Saturday Live, What's That Noise, Eastenders, Holby City, The Bill, Lexx and Doctors, among others.

Craig then acquired cult status in 1988 as Dave Lister in the BBC's long-running sci-fi comedy television series Red Dwarf. This was a role Craig played in all eight series until 1999 and in the three-part special in 2009.

Craig has also presented a number of television programmes, including Cyberzone, Funky Bunker, Jailbreak, Weapons of Mass Distraction, and Robot Wars.

Craig joined the cast of Coronation Street, playing philandering taxicab driver Lloyd Mullaney, in 2005.

In 1984, at the age of 20, Charles married English actress Cathy Tyson. Their son, Jack, was born in 1988. The couple divorced in 1989.

Craig then dated Irish singer-songwriter Suzanne Rhatigan for a time, before marrying his second wife, Jackie, in August 1997. They have two daughters together, Anna-Jo and Nellie.

First appearance on Coronation Street in the UK:
20 June 2005: Lloyd stopped at the Rovers on the way to a job interview at Street Cars. He upset Dev Alahan by smoking near his pregnant wife Sunita, unaware that Dev was the co-owner of Street Cars.
