
Christchurch Arts Festival
TVNZ proudly supports the Christchurch
Arts Festival . This year's event will run from 12 August to 2
October and showcase the best New Zealand and international artists
in a lively programme of theatre, dance, music, opera, literary and
visual arts. A lot has changed in Christchurch recently - giving
all the more reason to come together and celebrate the city's
vibrant creative life.
2011 TV2KidsFest
The 2011 TV2KidsFest will take place between 16 and 30
July with events in Christchurch, Banks Peninsula, Selwyn and
Waimakariri districts. The popular event is New Zealand's biggest
annual children's festival and a showcase for community spirit.
Each year around 75,000 participants take part.
EFFIE Awards
TVNZ has been a proud supporter of the Effie Awards since its
establishment in New Zealand in 2002. The internationally
recognised Awards celebrate the best creative work produced by
advertising agencies.
Farmers Santa Parade
TV2 has an on-going involvement with the Farmers Santa
Parade , an event which has been a fixture in Auckland culture
for many years.
The Parade helps to kick-start the Christmas season with the
perfect mix of fantasy, excitement, magic and laughter. The annual
event attracts over 250,000 people, has 4,000 participants and 280
creations of Christmas magic over a 2.2km route in Auckland's CBD.
Brand new floats, colourful characters and a host of A-list
celebrities will help us celebrate this year's Parade on Sunday 27
November from 2pm.
Westfield Style Pasifika
TV ONE is a supreme award sponsor of Westfield
Style Pasifika , an annual unique and iconic New Zealand event
that celebrates the cultural diversity and creativity of our
nation. This year's venue is Vector Arena, Auckland and will be
held between the Rugby World Cup 2011 semi-final and the final on
Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19 October.
Westfield Style Pasifika is one of the largest indigenous cultural
fashion events in the world, and New Zealand's foremost Pacific
fashion extravaganza. The event blends Pacific-inspired fashion,
music and dance into a spectacular two-hour showcase. It is an
exciting and vibrant tribute to New Zealand's South Pacific
geography and Auckland's unique position as home to 250,000 Pacific
Island people, making it the largest Polynesian city in the world.
