Justin Newcombe reckons he has designed about 3,500 gardens in his 17 years as a landscape designer and gardener.

He studied horticulture and agriculture before concentrating on a Fine Arts Degree, then worked for painter-printmaker Stanley Palmer and artist Roy Dalgarno before moving back into his passion for the land.

In the last 10 years Justin has become particularly focused on the urban landscape. In 1998 he started his own company, Landscape Safari, and he recently travelled to Nepal to construct a palliative care garden for a cancer hospital.

Justin is currently completing a certificate in Permaculture ( read more about it here ) and plans to launch a book in September 2009.

Catch Justin on Breakfast every second Thursday morning at 8.20am.
