Bringing Down the House

Cast: Steve Martin, Queen Latifah

Director: Adam Shankman

Queen Latifah and Steve Martin make the modern-day odd couple when they star in the smash hit movie, Bringing Down The House.

Steve Martin is best known for his comedy roles over the years, and doesn't let us down here with yet another hilarious flick that will appeal to people of all ages.

"What is comedy?" Steve asks. "Comedy is the art of making people laugh without making them puke."

Bringing Down The House teams Steve up with another comedic genius, Queen Latifah.

Queen Latifah - often described as 'hip hop's first lady' - has managed to equally spread her talents across both the acting and singing genres.

Her starring role in 2002's Chicago really brought her to the movie industry's attention and she has since starred in some modern-day gems like Beauty Shop, Taxi, and Bringing Down The House.

Bringing Down The House tells the story of the straight-laced and divorced attorney, Peter, who 'meets' a woman who intrigues him online.

She's a smart bombshell of a barrister whom he can't wait to meet.

When the time comes, the barrister isn't exactly how she described herself on the net.

Instead, it is Queen Latifah as prison escapee Charlene.

She is proclaiming her innocence and duped Pete online so she'd be able to meet him and then persuade him to represent her and clear her name.

Pete wants nothing to do with Charlene, but she won't take 'no' for an answer.

And, so, Pete's life is turned upside down as Charlene moves in, takes over, and introduces him to a way of life he never knew.
