In this gripping adaptation of Michael Robotham’s best-selling novel, two very different women have a chance encounter at a supermarket in an affluent Sydney suburb.

Social influencer Meghan has a seemingly perfect life - a famous husband, a nice house, two children and another on the way. It’s a life that looks glossy and glamourous to all her followers.

Agatha is a shelf stacker and loner who is barely living above the poverty line. She’s pregnant to her ex-boyfriend Hayden and follows Meghan’s mummy-blogger persona online.

When the two women meet, they don't have much in common. But they are both pregnant and due at the same time, so they strike up a friendship.

Both women also have secrets they will risk everything to conceal: Meghan is covering up the strain in her relationship that has been caused by the new baby while Agatha is hiding an unhealthy obsession with Meghan’s ‘perfect’ life.

Their worlds are about to collide in one shocking act that cannot be undone.

Agatha

A supermarket shelf stacker and heavily pregnant with her long-awaited miracle baby. Agatha is an avid follower of Meghan’s website and social media, closely watching with a covetous gaze.

Agatha is played by English actor Laura Carmichael, who was Lady Edith Crawley in Downton Abbey. She has also starred in period drama The Spanish Princess, BBC drama Man in an Orange Shirt, crime drama Marcella and the award-winning film Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. In 2019 she reprised her role of Lady Edith in the Downton Abbey movie.

Meghan

A passionate mother and popular influencer, Meghan is pregnant with her third child. She is determined to make her marriage work and provide a loving, stable home for her children.

Played by Australian actor Jessica De Gouw. She has previously starred in the miniseries Deadline Gallipoli, the award-winning U.S. series Underground, and in the superhero series Arrow as The Huntress. She’s most recently appeared in an episode of season 3 of The Crown.
 

Jack

Jack is living a seemingly perfect life as a successful sports reporter. But beneath the polished exterior is a man under immense pressure to keep his family financially afloat.

Played by Kiwi-born actor Michael Dorman. He started his career in the Australian drama The Secret Life of Us and has appeared in the feature films Daybreakers and The Water Diviner, opposite Russell Crowe. He most recently appeared in the Amazon comedy drama Patriot.
 

Simon

Simon is Jack’s long-time best friend and colleague. He’s charming, rakish and a bit of a lad. Meghan believes Simon is a bad influence on her husband.

Simon is played by Australian actor Ryan Corr. Well-known for playing Corby in popular drama Packed to the Rafters, Corr has also starred in Underbelly, Banished, Love Child and the sci-fi drama Cleverman. His film credits include Hacksaw Ridge, The Water Diviner, and Where the Wild Things Are.
 

Hayden

Hayden is a sailor in the Australian Navy with whom Agatha had a brief yet intense fling. He is on deployment, unaware that he is the father of Agatha’s baby.

Hayden is played by Australian actor Michael Sheasby. Viewers may remember him as Steve Carmody on Home and Away or as Bert Ford on A Place to Call Home. He has also appeared in the TV drama Love Child and film The Sapphires. Later in the year he will appear in miniseries The Luminaries.
