George Zimmerman was briefly held in police custody today after allegedly threatening his wife and father-in-law with a gun.
Zimmerman, 29, who was acquitted in July of the murder of teenager Trayvon Martin, was handcuffed and questioned by Lake Mary police.
His wife Shellie, 26, had called emergency services earlier and reported that her husband had assaulted her father, David Dean.
In the 911 call, she says that he was waving a gun around and threatening her relatives.
She also told the dispatcher that George had punched David in the nose and smashed her iPad.
"I don't know what he's capable of. I am really, really scared," she can be heard saying.
However, George was later released, after Shellie decided not to press charges.
Deputy Police Chief Colin Morgan told US media that officers did not recover a gun at the scene.
Shellie has since dropped her claim that a gun was involved, USA Today says.
The incident comes just days after Shellie filed for divorce.
