Passengers on a ride at a California amusement park were left hanging 90 metres in the air for nearly four hours.
A malfunction froze a brake on the Windseeker at Knott's Berry Farm in Los Angeles.
Twenty passengers were stranded high above the ground in seats suspended from a tower.
When the brake froze, the ride automatically shut down, said Erika Monterroza, from California's Division of Occupational Safety and Health.
The passengers had to wait while maintenance workers freed a counter-balance to lower the ride.
The Windseeker is to remain closed until an investigation into Wednesday's incident, and another on September 7 which also shut down the ride, is complete.
