A US teacher has been sentenced to five years behind bars after being found guilty of having sex with five male students, including being filmed while having group sex with four of them.
A jury took less than an hour to find mother-of-three Brittni Colleps, 28, guilty of the sex crimes after they were shown a video of the orgy with her students in court.
The high-school teacher's husband vowed to stand by her, and begged the judge for leniency in her case after he revealed the couple enjoyed having group sex with other adults.
Christopher Colleps told the court he is trying to forgive his wife.
He said while they had engaged in group sex together before, he felt betrayed by her actions with the students, thought to have taken place while the US soldier, usually stationed at Louisiana's Fort Polk, was overseas on duty.
It is believed their children were also not at home during the time the incidents took place.
"I'm asking you to give her probation," he pleaded with the judge.
"It's not my fault or her children's, and taking her away from us is punishing us.
"Brittni saved my life before I met her. I was doing bad things and when I met Brittni she gave me someone to love and care about."
As details of the sex crimes were revealed in court it emerged that Colleps had modelled lingerie for the pupils and sent them videos of her using sex toys.
The English teacher met the boys at Kennedale High School in Texas where she worked, and repeatedly invited them to her home for sex.
The students - all aged 18 or older - used pseudonyms to testify against their former teacher.
The boys claimed they had initially hid the relationship because they "didn't want her to get into trouble".
While the students are over 18, US law protects them from a relationship with someone in a superior position.
The teenagers said she contacted them through text messages or social networking website Facebook.
One boy said she texted him 100 times in a day.
Another student, Jordan, said he learned from friends that the teacher was having sex with students.
He went to her house twice, where he engaged in group sex, he said.
He recorded the last encounter using one of the other boys' phones.
This video was shown in court , where Colleps is seen having sex with the boys. While her back is to the camera, she was identifiable by a distinctive neck tattoo.
Colleps looked away from the screen and appeared uncomfortable when the video was shown.
During the sentencing hearing the disgraced teacher's mother also testified, asking the judge to show some leniency.
'Have mercy on her as someone who has done nothing wrong except in that time period," Shirley Bush said.
"Have mercy on her kids, they don't understand this.
"She's a generous person. When I went through cancer she was seven months pregnant and she shaved her head.
"She is a loving daughter, a loving wife regardless what happened in this situation."
Colleps was found guilty of five counts of having an inappropriate relationship between a student and teacher.
