A suicide bomber blew himself up outside Pakistan's naval headquarters in Islamabad on Wednesday, wounding at least four people, police said.
"The bomber was on foot. We have reports of four wounded," said senior police official Bin Yameen.
The violence comes a day after US President Barack Obama said he would send 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan, a move Pakistani officials fear will push militants across the border from Afghanistan and complicate the army's battle against the Taliban.
